About

At the heart of David’s photographic practice is a deep appreciation for the natural world and a desire to communicate the complex implications of human activity. These themes are motivated by his experiences during long distance treks in the Himalayas and the Andes shooting landscape and the travel experience. More recently he has investigated internal and external landscapes, from the search for happiness and contentment to fear of the dark, the places we call home and our fraught relationship with the environment.

David (b. 1970, Ballarat, Australia) completed a Bachelor of Photography in 2016. Prior to this he studied geology and worked for the Victorian Government. In 2020 he began strengthening his environmental knowledge, studying a Diploma of Conservation and Ecosystem Management, which he completed in 2022.
